The SBF Foundation was established in 2013 by Singapore Business Federation (SBF). As the social impact arm of SBF, the Foundation is envisioned to strengthen Singapore’s social compact with support and participation by the business community.
The Foundation believes that people are at the heart of businesses, and that a compassionate and proactive business community can lead to a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient socio-economic landscape in Singapore. Apart from rallying the Singapore business community to support employees in need and enabling equal access to employment, the SBF Foundation bridges businesses to their charities of choice. to champion causes close to their hearts such as in the areas of Arts, Sports, Health, Social and Education etc.
Galvanising business community to support employees in need
In Singapore’s society where employees give their best for themselves and others, industry leaders can also do more to offer support to employees in need. The Industry-led Compassion Fund serves as a platform for the business community to rally collective support and care from within. Employees in need receive financial aid and more importantly,
referral for community support to address other concerns.
SBF Foundation matches dollar-for-dollar, up to $200,000 per association, for every dollar raised by the trade associations and their members.
Empowering vulnerable groups enter or re-integrate the workforce
Work is crucial to a person’s dignity, well-being and development. Business can uplift lives and help society’s vulnerable groups lead dignified lives through
economic empowerment and independence.
The SBF Foundation Employability Fund supports employment programmes that outreach to vulnerable groups entering or re-entering the workforce. Our Empower Circles is a conversation series that engages and bridges Human Resource professionals with the social service agencies to discuss on progressive hiring practices, increase success in job seeking and retention, and enhance employability.
