The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) supported 13,800 companies in 2025 through programmes across its six Action Agendas, an increase of more than 70% from 2024. Despite a challenging global environment shaped by trade tensions and economic uncertainty, SBF’s membership grew by about 7% to 34,200 members.

The Singapore Emission Factors Registry (SEFR), the nation’s single reference point for localised emission factors (EF), has been expanded with 94 new EFs to strengthen Singapore’s carbon data infrastructure and support more accurate emissions reporting by businesses. EFs are scientific multipliers that convert business activity data into carbon emissions data. The latest expansion includes three new EFs for cleaning, security, and professional services, five new EFs for information and communications technology (ICT), as well as 86 new EFs for industry processes and product use (IPPU), refrigerants, purchased energy and building materials. With the addition, SEFR has 319 EFs that covers 100% of emissions reporting for Scope 1 and 2, as well as for four out of fifteen Scope 3 categories . See Annex A for the full list.

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and PwC Singapore today submitted a set of Budget 2026 Recommendations to build a future-ready Singapore - one that is globally competitive, sustainable and inclusive. Titled "Building a future-ready Singapore: Transformation, Technology, Trust", the joint recommendations are a call to move first, not react later, by driving enterprise and workforce transformation, enabled by technology and underpinned by trust. As the global environment and business models evolve, AI and innovation will increasingly determine whether Singapore leaps onto its next growth S-curve or settles into slower growth. At the same time, maintaining trust - in policies, institutions and social cohesion - is essential to sustaining Singapore's position as a competitive global and regional hub.

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) today released findings from its National Business Survey 2025 – Annual Business Sentiments Edition, which revealed that overall business confidence - measured by the Business Sentiment Index (BSI) - declined from 55.4 in Q2 2025 to 52.2 in Q3 2025. This represents a sharper 3.2-point fall compared to the 1.1-point dip between Q1 and Q2, reflecting a sense of persistent cautiousness among businesses amid ongoing global economic and tariff uncertainties.
