At the United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS) Summit today, Second Minister for Finance Ms Indranee Rajah announced the addition of five new categories of emission factors to the SEFR. Covering cleaning, security, and professional services, information and communications technology, as well as product carbon footprint, these new factors will enable companies to measure and track their carbon footprint with greater accuracy. NetZeroHub.SG Resource Portal, the portal hosting the SEFR, will also have enhanced community-centric features to foster greater collaboration among businesses in their decarbonisation journey and climate action efforts.

The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) convened the inaugural SBF Ghana–Singapore Business Dialogue on the occasion of the State Visit of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, to Singapore from 26–28 August 2025. The Singapore Business Federation’s (SBF) National Business Survey 2025 – Manpower and Wages Edition revealed Singapore businesses’ bearish outlook on the current state of economy. Businesses are lowering revenue and profitability expectations, holding off expansion and hiring due to the uncertain macroeconomic outlook. More companies expect conditions to worsen (35%) than improve (14%) over the next 12 months. The overall Business Sentiment Index (BSI), which measures business confidence, softened by 1.1 points from 56.5 in Q1 2025 to 55.4 in Q2 2025.
