Senior Manager/Manager, Policy & Planning

The Policy & Planning department in SBF plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation and advocating for the interests of the Singapore business community. As a Senior Manager/Manager, you will be responsible for developing policy positions, business response briefs, and thought leaderships pieces that reflect the needs and aspirations of businesses. You will engage with a wide range of partners stakeholders from businesses, trade associations and chambers, and government agencies. The role also involves curating and executing high-level engagement platforms such as ministerial dialogues, roundtables, and forums to foster public-private collaboration and drive forward-looking policy discourse.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the development of policy papers and recommendations on issues of interest and concern to the business community. These topics include but are not limited to business competitiveness, talent development and workforce resilience, sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) priorities, and macroeconomic review and emerging opportunities.

     

  • Conceptualise and organise key events such as ministerial dialogues, fireside chats, and roundtable engagements to facilitate interaction between private and public sector stakeholders.

     

  • Drive the work to support Small and Medium Enterprises transformation  and collaborate with SME leaders and key stakeholders on initiatives or projects for ecosystem and industry development.

     

  • Coordinate and curate strategic projects to ensure alignment with the goals of the organisation and work with government ministries and agencies and key stakeholders to structure programmes and secure resources and support needed. 

     

  • Support the review of SBF’s strategic direction and increase the visibility of SBF’s corporate achievements to better articulate our value to our stakeholders and members.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in policy development, public policy related functions, and/or strategic planning will be an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills, able to structure analysis for complex issues, using qualitative and quantitative data to distil insights and propose direction and actionable solutions.
  • Good understanding of and interest in the key concerns and challenges of the Singapore business community, especially SMEs.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills to pull together diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to work well in a team and as an individual contributor.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
