We are seeking a dynamic professional to join the International Business Division (IBD) as a Market Advisor for the Southeast Asia region. In this role, you will support Singapore companies in their internationalisation journey—helping them ‘Learn’‘Land’, and ‘Localise’ overseas.

Your primary responsibility is to assist Singapore businesses in expanding into Southeast Asia by providing market insights, facilitating business connections, and supporting their growth in overseas markets. You will:

  • Guide companies in taking their first steps abroad by offering advisory support on market trends and sectoral opportunities.
  • Organise and execute market outreach initiatives, including business forums, roundtables, trade missions, and bilateral business councils.
  • Foster stakeholder relationships between Singapore businesses and foreign government agencies, trade associations, and in-market partners.
  • Provide secretariat support to business councils and working groups comprising senior business leaders.
  • Contribute to SBF’s strategic initiatives that enhance its “Scaled Internationally” action agenda.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects, engage with key stakeholders, and shape Singapore’s business expansion in Southeast Asia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research on assigned markets to identify key insights relevant to the Singapore business community.
  • Develop country briefs, reports, and talking points for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide market advisory services, B2B matching, and lead follow-ups to drive business success and achieve key performance outcomes.
  • Plan and execute market engagement activities, such as business forums, roundtables, seminars, workshops, and trade missions, to enhance awareness and business opportunities.
  • Identify and establish relationships with local and overseas market entry partners to strengthen SBF’s international business network.
  • Offer secretariat support for bilateral and multilateral business councils, trade associations, and key stakeholders to foster collaboration and market access.
  • Drive corporate and financial targets in alignment with the organisation strategic direction and values.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Preferably 5–8 years in international business development, international marketing, or corporate secretariat support, with corporate experience in Southeast Asia markets.
  • Research & Analysis: Ability to assess business performance and strategies using financial reports and market research, while understanding political, social, and economic factors affecting internationalisation.
  • Writing & Communication: Strong skills in drafting concise meeting briefs, country reports, and talking points for stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Good understanding of business processes, organisational disciplines, and market-entry strategies.
  • Adaptability & Drive: Inquisitive, self-motivated, and thrives in a target-driven environment, with the ability to multitask and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate across cultures, respect diversity, and lead communications with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: A strong team player who can lead assigned portfolios while supporting colleagues in relevant work streams.
