Financing Specialist, Centre for Enterprise Financing Advisory

The Financing Specialist will engage enterprises through 1-to-1 consultations to assess the enterprise’s financial health, deliver tailored financial advisory, and address financing needs by facilitating access to suitable financial institutions. The Financing Specialist should have at least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: banking, finance, accountancy, audit, or financial/corporate advisory services. The Financing Specialist should possess strong financial acumen capabilities with strong communication skills, with knowledge of SMEs’ financing challenges preferred. This role requires a finance professional who can work with enterprises and collaborate effectively with financial institutions and financial ecosystem partners to ensure the needs of enterprises are met.  

Job Responsibilities

Financial Advisory

  • Assess the financial health of enterprises by analysing their business plans, cashflows and financial projections
  • Guide enterprises in adopting financing tools tailored to their growth needs, including support for refinancing, restructuring, and insolvency to strengthen financial resilience.
  • Advise enterprises on risk and crisis management, including insurance solutions and contingency planning.
  • Provide M&A advisory to support industry consolidation and strategic business pivots.
  • Support the Centre Director in assessing the needs of enterprises and financing landscape to identify new opportunities and ensure continual development of relevant products and services.
  • Drive innovation and productivity strategies while staying ahead of industry developments in the provision of financial advisory services.

Financing Facilitation

  • Gather and share information with enterprises on relevant government financial schemes
  • Assist enterprises to secure loans by facilitating engagements with financiers, analysing their credit strength and putting up loan applications to banks on their behalf
  • Advise and guide enterprises with loan applications, including providing know-how for different stages of enterprises and sectors, spanning traditional and alternative financing options.

Service Excellence

  • Champion service excellene by fostering trust-based relationships with client enterprises, ensuring their business needs are understood and effectively addressed

Programme Development

  • Support CEFA in developing learning resources to enhance enterprise financial literacy.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in banking, finance, accountancy, audit or a background in providing financial or corporate advisory services to corporate clients. 
  • Financial Acumen - Demonstrates a deep understanding of financial principles, instruments, and markets, with practical experience in credit assessment for loan applications, restructuring and refinancing. Knowledgeable in insolvency and bankruptcy procedures, and adept at applying data analytics to identify and address gaps in the financial landscape.
  • Problem solving - Ability to assess complex financial situations and propose viable solutions. 
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management - Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong partnerships. Possess a service mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
