Deputy Director, Strategic Partnerships

As Deputy Director, Strategic Partnerships, you will champion high-impact collaborations with partners across government, corporates, TACs, and the community sector. You’ll tap into your strategic acumen and network of senior stakeholders to co-create initiatives that advance SBF’s six action agendas: Smart Enabled, Skills Empowered, Scaled Internationally, Sustainability-Centric, Socially Impactful, and Synergistic TACs.

You will play a key role to mobilise stakeholders by activating networks, resources and capabilities to drive shared outcomes and magnify impact by amplifying the reach and influence of SBF’s platforms and programmes. Through thoughtful placemaking, you will also help design shared platforms and experiences that nurture, develop, and entrench relationships with current and future partners.

To succeed in this role, you should possess a diverse skillset encompassing strategic thinking, exceptional relationship-building, adaptability, and a deep understanding of global business dynamics.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Apply strategic foresight and ecosystem understanding to support the Director of Strategic Partnerships in executing a partnership roadmap that positions SBF’s collaborations as a driver of organisational growth, delivering business outcomes and ecosystem impact through high-value, win-win partnerships.
  2. Leverage analytical and operational skills to refine and implement the Partnership Framework. This includes establishing meaningful KPIs, tracking performance, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable impact and strategic value to both SBF and our partners.
  3. Champion close, strong stakeholder engagement to work with the Action Agenda Leads and the Strategic Platforms team, ensuring partnership initiatives are designed and delivered seamlessly while amplifying the reach and influence of SBF’s platforms through strategic storytelling and positioning.
  4. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and influencing capabilities to serve as a senior liaison to strategic partners 
  5. Apply commercial acumen and partnership building skills to design and execute sponsorship campaigns for flagship initiatives, collaborating with internal teams to deliver mutual value for sponsors and SBF.
  6. Exhibit adaptability and a solutions-oriented mindset to take on ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned by management, contributing to the broader success of the Strategic Partnerships team and SBF.

Job Requirements

  • Proven ability to identify, structure, and scale strategic partnerships that deliver measurable business and ecosystem value, aligned with long-term organisational goals.
  • Strong strategic mindset and commercial acumen, with deep understanding of partnership models, performance metrics, and value creation frameworks.
  • Strong experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders across sectors including government agencies, corporates, TACs, ecosystem enablers, and/or community organisations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with a track record of building trust-based relationships across senior stakeholders including C-suite leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling capabilities, with the ability to position platforms and initiatives through compelling narratives that drive engagement and alignment.
