Assistant Manager, Marketing and Communications

The Assistant Manager, Marketing and Communications, plays a key role in advancing SBF’s positioning as the apex business chamber in Singapore. This includes shaping SBF’s brand, driving integrated communications strategies, leading content development, and supporting high-level media engagement and stakeholder communications. The incumbent will be expected to work independently and collaboratively across divisions, with government and industry partners, and external agencies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Brand & Strategic Communications
    • Support the development and execution of integrated communications plans to reinforce SBF’s brand and thought leadership positioning.
    • Drive corporate storytelling across owned and earned platforms.
  • Media Relations
    • Lead media engagement activities including responding to media queries, coordinating interviews, preparing media statements, and developing key messages.
    • Cultivate strong media relationships and monitor coverage to identify proactive media opportunities.
  • Content Development
    • Create high-quality content such as speeches, press releases, op-eds, infographics and social media posts aligned with SBF’s tone and strategic focus.
  • Corporate Collaterals
    • Manage the production of corporate materials such as annual reports, corporate videos, brochures, and gifts that reflect SBF’s identity and values.
  • Project & Campaign Management
    • Lead or support campaigns, launches, and major events in collaboration with internal stakeholders and appointed agencies.
    • Ensure timely delivery of milestones and KPIs within allocated budget and scope.
  • Stakeholder Communications
    • Assist in developing and executing communications plans for high-level engagements involving government leaders, foreign dignitaries, and business partners.
  • Issues Management & Crisis Response
    • Provide communications support during crises, including drafting holding statements, media advisories, and stakeholder messages.
  • Media Monitoring & Analytics
    • Oversee daily media monitoring and prepare analysis reports for management insights and tracking of brand health.
  • Process Improvement & Team Development
    • Support the refinement of communications processes and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
  • Other Duties
    • Take on other responsibilities and special projects as assigned 

Job Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public relations, or marketing communications.
  • Prior experience in a public sector agency, trade association, or business chamber is advantageous.
  • Strong media engagement and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities across various formats.
  • Familiarity with brand governance, digital communications, and content strategy.
