Simpler government tender category among moves to improve ease of doing business
The government is launching the Tender Lite category in April 2024 to simplify transactions with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), making it easier for them to participate in tenders valued at up to S$1 million. This initiative, part of efforts to streamline government dealings for businesses, aims to level the playing field and remove obstacles for competitive and innovative suppliers, including SMEs. The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has worked with the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and SBF to gather feedback on the design of the category.
