Research Analyst, Research & Publishing

In view of SBF’s continuing effort in enhancing its support for businesses and facilitating the growth of the business community, the role of research is key in the provision of timely and deep sensing studies that shed meaningful insights on the overall Singapore business environment and issues that matter to the business community. 

An integral part of the candidate’s responsibilities includes primary research through the conduct of surveys/polls, focus group discussions, one-on-one interviews and other forms of engagements. He/she is also expected to manage the conduct of research across geographical markets, sectors and business subject matters, drawing implications from data and deriving insights.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gathering of data and feedback through the conduct of surveys and polls to understand and identify the needs, concerns and priorities of businesses.
  • Charting and tracking of trends and indicators across markets and sectors.
  • Conducting/facilitating focus group discussions and case study interviews.
  • Producing topical research reports, sector/country write-ups and market studies, among others.
  • Supporting the department by performing statistical analyses, managing databases and other forms of preparatory work across the research value chain to enable the smooth running of projects.
  • Working closely with respective business units to understand and distil key areas of interest and concerns
  • Helping to liaise, engage and collaborate with government agencies, think-tanks, trade associations, business chambers and the business community at large.
  • The ability to present findings to internal and external stakeholders at relevant platforms

Job Requirements

  • Strong inclination for writing and research, with a keen interest in conducting outreach and engagement.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage external stakeholders and businesses at various levels.
  • Proficient in organising and facilitating focus group discussions and interviews
  • Ability to present research and data findings in a format that appeals to the business community.
  • Knowledge in the use of any of the following tools would be looked upon favourably: SPSS, Power BI and Tableau
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to bring various parties together to achieve results.
